Tax Senior

Position

We are expanding the tax department and are interested in recruiting a Tax Senior.  The successful candidate will be involved in providing tax advice to a wide range of clients from family-owned businesses and individuals to multi-national corporations. This position will provide a good work/life balance and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Delivering the firm’s compliance services for a portfolio of personal tax and corporate clients

Reviewing audit files for tax points and identifying/advising on tax planning opportunities

Acting as a client contact in relation to tax matters and maintaining/developing client relationships

Completion of consultancy assignments and participating in other ad-hoc advisory projects

Researching technical tax issues for partners

Liaising with Revenue in connection with client matters and cooperating with clients to ensure that any problems are resolved

Assisting in the management of billings and fee collection for allocated clients

Being involved in new business initiatives and the ongoing development of the tax department which may include tax briefings and presentations

Education, Experience and Skills

  • AITI/CTA qualified with a minimum of 3 year’s PQE
  • Good technical knowledge of tax legislation and previous exposure to corporation tax
  • Capable of working independently and have a proven track record for service excellence
  • Proficient at Excel and Word with good IT skills
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an attention to detail
  • Good team player and strong interpersonal skills

Tax Trainee

We are looking for a tax trainee to support the tax team. This opportunity will see the trainee working on a broad range of tax areas including RCT, VAT, etc. providing good Irish and international tax experience.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Progressing with TMITI or AITI exams
  • Experience of working with personal taxes , RCT and VAT an advantage
  • Strong client engagement skills are important
  • Proficient at Excel and Word with good IT skills

McInerney Saunders appoints new Directors

McInerney Saunders has recently promoted two of our team to Director. Deirdre McGinley FCA has worked with the firm since 2015 and has over 15 years experience in providing financial reporting and audit services to companies of all sizes. Darragh Henry FCA has been with the firm for 20 years and has significant experience across many client service areas, and in particular audit.

Paralympics Ireland: More Success and the Changing of the Guard!

As an Official Partner of Paralympics Ireland, we had a busy weekend supporting their continued success!

Friday Night: 2016 OCS Irish Paralympic Awards Ceremony

At a gala dinner in Ballsbridge on Friday night, we were delighted to spend the evening recognising the fantastic achievements of the Paralympics Team and Support Staff in Rio 2016. This is an important night for the whole team as it acknowledges the work and achievements of everybody associated with the Paralympics Ireland set-up, athletes, doctors, coaches, co-ordinators, fundraisers and the media who actively engage in promoting the sport.

Saturday Evening: People of the Year Awards

Another night, another suit and this time we saw another successful evening for Paralympics Ireland with the medallists from Rio 2016 being award Sports Person of the Year.

Announcement

It was confirmed on Sunday that Liam Harbison is to be appointed the new Director of the Sport Ireland Institute which will see his departure from the Paralympics Ireland team after 14 years. Liam led the transformation of Paralympic Sport in Ireland resulting in a measurable improvement in athlete performance at Paralympic Games.

Commenting on his appointment, Liam Harbison said: While sorry to be leaving the Paralympic movement after 14 great years and the many great people I’ve had the privilege of working with and for, I’m excited by the new opportunity and challenge of directing the Sport Ireland Institute. I look forward to working with the Sport Ireland Institute and the National Governing Bodies to continue the great work in world class service delivery to Ireland’s athletes through to Tokyo 2020.
